The Essentials of Fire Safety Level 1

This half day Highfield course is ideal for induction and fire safety awareness training. It covers responsibilities, how fires start, fire procedures, action in the event of a fire, fire extinguishers, fire prevention, electrical safety and good housekeeping.

The cost is £70 + VAT per delegate at our venue.

Alternatively we can run the course at your venue for up to 12 people for £600.  The course would be tailored to your requirements and venue.

Risk Assessments Level 2

This half day Highfield course covers the basics of risk assessment in the workplace, looking at health & safety legislation, duties of employees and employers, accidents and ill health, preventing accidents in the workplace, how to do a risk assessment and risk control hierarchy.

The cost is £50 + VAT per delegate at our venue.

Manual Handling Level 2

This half day Highfield course covers an introduction to manual handling, legal responsibilities, hazards, assessments and controls.

The cost is £50 + VAT per delegate at our venue.

Conflict Management Level 2

This Highfield course looks at communicating to solve problems and reduce potential for conflict, how to assess and reduce risks in conflict situations, de-escalating conflict in emotive situations and using good practice after conflict situations and the key factors that influence human responses in conflict situations.

The IOSH Working Safely classroom based course is recognised by CITB as qualifying towards obtaining the CSCS green labourer card.

IOSH Managing Safely Web-based E-learning Course

IOSH Managing Safely is a nationally recognised health and safety qualification and has become a standard minimum requirement by many employers.

The E-learning version is an ideal option for busy managers and supervisors who wish to gain this qualification and who may find attending the four day classroom training session difficult.
Trainees can take the course at their own pace and in bite size sessions that suit their schedule.

The course is aimed at all line managers and is very practical. The content contains thought-provoking facts and memorable case studies. The aim is to provide practical risk management skills and knowledge that can be applied by the trainee in their day to day operations.

What the Managing Safely course covers:

  • Introduction to managing safely
  • Undertaking risk assessments
  • How to control risks
  • Understanding your managerial responsibilities
  • Identifying hazards
  • Investigating accidents and incidents
  • Measuring safety performance
  • Principles of environmental protection and control

The Managing Safely E-learning course has interactive video sessions that are easy and interesting to study, downloadable course notes for revision offline and a course tutor available via email and phone for any additional support.

The course plan includes:

  1. 8 theory modules – delivered via interactive video sessions. These all include end of session tests to check trainee learning and progress. All modules are supported by session notes for revisions and offline learning.
  2. End of course theory test – delivered via a 30 question multiple choice test.
  3. Practical project – each trainee completes a risk assessment project within their workplace. This is then submitted for marking.

The course agenda is approximately 30 hours of study, 6 month completion period, 2 attempts at the end test and 2 weeks to complete the practical project.

This means that RoSPA have checked and assured the technical content of the courses and that trainees receive a nationally recognised training award. When trainees complete each training course they receive a RoSPA accredited certificate. The system enables trainees to build a training portfolio that will be widely recognised.
