Under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, it is an employer’s duty to ensure that a competent person has been appointed to meet health and safety duties. Unless you are a large company, the cost of employing a dedicated, in-house Health & Safety Advisor can be prohibitive. You may also wish to seek help and advice from an external source if your business is large, complex or high risk, or if you do not have any competent persons in house who can manage your health and safety duties.
When appointing an external Health & Safety Advisor, you must ensure that they are competent, suitable and that you will get the help you need. You can do this by checking relevant training and knowledge, such as ensuring that they have NEBOSH or NVQ qualifications or have practical experience in providing assistance in your industry or area of work. You should also ensure that the services that they provide will be suitable in meeting all of your health and safety needs.

Unlike many of our competitors we put our prices on our website – they can all be found here. Our contracts run for just 3 years; unlike the 7 years you will find with many companies.
If you do not feel that you want to sign up for a contract currently, then we are happy to do “one-off” services. Details are on the same page as the packages, but you may have to get back to us for a full price – a Fire Risk Assessment on a two-room office will not be the same as a full building!
We also have an online Health & Safety Management System, which can be purchased as part of a package or as a stand-alone system. Bronze Plus, Silver Plus and Gold Plus packages have the online system included in the price. The cost as a stand-alone system will depend on the size of your company and how many users you want. With Craven Safety Services you will get a named Health & Safety Consultant who will get to know your business and will help to identify issues and resolve them before they become a problem.
Are you looking to become certified with CHAS, Constructionline, Safecontractor or one of several other bodies? We can help. With the Gold and Gold Plus packages this assistance is included in the price. Alternatively, we can give you a one-off price to assist with the certification (there are preferential rates for people who have signed up to a package!).
